Rob & Peg

All Our Children

I couldn't help but create this page for our site. Although it is not along the travel lines, it is definitely an "ADVENTURE". When we travel, they have to have a baby sitter or we don′t go.

Fuzzy

Route 90 East Prior to Bob and I getting together, he would feed a number of cats that hung around his home. One day it seemed that they all left but one, and she was named Fuzzy. When I moved in of course she had to come inside. Fuzzy was an older cat and since she was the only one that stayed with him, she should be allowed in the house. She adjusted very well. Our bedroom was upstairs and she would come upstairs and meow in her Daddy′s ear indicating it′s time to wake up and feed me or let me out or both. Fuzzy also had this thing about her that if that didn′t wake him up, she would go the bottom of the stairs and scream bloody murder until you came. The girl had a set of longs on her. When we moved to NC we brought her with us. She was okay for a couple of months and I guess old age caught up with her and she passed away. She is our first born.

Whiskey

Route 90 East Whiskey is our 2nd born and she also relocated from New Jersey. The funny thing about Whiskey is she showed up outside the club I worked at on my last night, clean and very friendly, but a little late for her to be out alone, 10:00 PM. I worked there 13 years and there has never been a cat around day or night. So she was suppose to be with us. My nieces found her when they were outside and asked "Uncle Bob" if he was going to take her home. At this point Merci put her on his lap and it was all over. When we were ready to leave, he asked her to bring her to the car for him. That's how she got her name because we were all drinking whiskey that night. She doesn't′t meow loudly and most times not at all, but she can growl loud enough for everyone when she′s truly unhappy.

Suzie

Route 90 East Our third born actually adopted us. We had been in NC about three months when, Suzie, a short-tailed stripped cat started coming around. She made Whiskey nervous so I tried to shoo her away with rocks. Bob said I couldn't do that and he started feeding her, next thing I know she is in the house. I think someone must have left her when they moved from the neighbor because she knew all the dos and don′ts of the house. She is pigeon toed, short tailed and switches like there is no tomorrow. Another Daddy′s girl and a loud talker when she wants something.

Blackie

Route 90 East Our fourth child is Blackie. He was given this name because he is jet black all over and has the prettiest coat of hair. He was about 8 months old when he came to live with us. Like Susie, he knew about living in a home. Whiskey & Susie was not happy about this. Of course, being a man, he decided he wanted to sow his wild oats at home, this didn't work out and neither of the girls was having it. I guess he gave up and decided to go outside and find what he was looking for and this brought on the not coming home but see you when I see you. HA!HA! He continues to visit but not as often as he use to. Sometimes he stays overnight and others he visits for awhile and takes off again.

Lady

Route 90 East When Lady, came around we thought he was a she, and this is how he got his name. A very loving and passionate cat but very old. Lady is very slow. It actually takes him about a half hour to eat. He takes his time and lets no one rush him. He has seen a few battles and we try to take care of them when he comes around. I can never keep his face clean. He is not house broken totally so he has to remain outside. Lady brought Little One & Big Eyes around after a while when they were small and that is how they came about.

Little One

Little One Little One is the new addition to the house and our sixth child. He is charcoal grey in color and thin as a rail although his picture does not show it. Very playful and needs a lot of attention when he decides to come to bed with you. Kissy–Kissy–Kissy. When you can′t locate him in the house, he is usually under the bed in the blue room or the antique room. You can also find him in the sink in the pink bathroom. Susie is okay with him being in the house most of the time but Whiskey hasn't decided if she likes him or not. They are constantly chasing each other and fighting. Hopefully this will blow over soon.

Big Eyes

Big Eyes Our seventh child, Big Eyes came along at the time Little One did, but she is not as friendly as he is. When you open the back door she just comes sprinting out of the woods to the porch because she knows it′s time to eat. She has Two Cents and Goldie fighting over her all the time. She has them both wrapped around her little finger. Big Eyes will come a little close to you but will not let you touch her yet. She is getting closer and closer though. I had actually wanted to get her to come and stay in the house instead of Little One because of the other two girls, however, Little One had other ideas.

Scarface

Scarface Child number eight is Scarface. Now you wonder why would parents name their child Scareface. It′s easy, he has scars everywhere and is mean to boot. He is starting to come around to letting you touch him while he is eating but that′s about it. He too is black like Blackie but not as dark. So at this point we now have two black cats, Blackie & Scarface. Don′t know where he came from, just showed up one day and has been here every since. He also likes to roll around in the dirt. That will not do in the house.

Two Cents

Two Cents We have now arrived at our I′m bad, don′t mess with me ninth child, Two Cents. How did he get his name, he is nothing but silly puddy in your hands. Talks a big game but when you touch him, he falls out on the floor with a rub my belly attitude. Two Cents will have a conversation with you, you say something and he′ll say something, this could go on for minutes. He is one of Big Eye′s men. Two Cents is a problem child. If he comes in the house and your back is turned, he has a tendency to jump on Susie and Little One. Therefore his in house visits are very limited under watchful eye. He is also black, so that makes three black cats we have.

Goldie

Goldie Our next to last child, Goldie is as tough as he wants to be when it comes to Big Eyes, but friendly on the other hand. Goldie can growl very loudly when in a dispute with the other cats but a cry baby when he′s ready to eat. Like Scarface and Two Cents, he just showed up one day and has stayed. His coat is a pretty dark gold color with blonde highlights. Another who will not be allowed in the house.

Ringtail

Ringtail The last child is Ringtail. He looks a lot like Big Eyes but lighter gray in color and pretty blue eyes. He got his name from my watching Madagascar cartoons and Ringtail′s tail reminds me of the Lemur′s tail on the show. He is very shy and just wants you to feed him, do not get close and none of touchy stuff. Eventually he will come around for a touch or two.
