Somerset, PA
Although we lived in the northeast for many years, we never ventured to Somerset, PA. I have recently met a new friend that lives there and we plan to visit. So on one of our travels north, we will stop in Somerset, PA after which I will be able to write a short story of our visit. Somerset is a borough in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, just off Exit 110 of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-70 and I-76). |
Reno, NV
Reno, known as "The Biggest Little City in the World", is famous for its casinos, and the birthplace of the gaming corporation Harrah's Entertainment. Although we have visited Las Vegas on numerous occasions, we never made it to Reno. - I wonder why? |
Vietnam
Rob served in the Vietnam War. After all has been said and done, he would like to go back to see what changes have been made since then. To support South Vietnam's struggle against the communist insurgency, the US began increasing its contribution of military advisers. US forces became embroiled in combat operations in 1965 and at their peak they numbered more than 500,000. There were a number of casualties and lives lost during this war and our hearts go out to those families. |
Canada
There are two places we would like to visit in Canada, Niagara Falls and Elrose (located just across the border of Montana) in the Province of Saskatchewan. I have a friend that lives in Elrose on 2700+ acres of farm land. Can't wait to see this. Niagara Falls visit is for the romance. |
Brazil
Our destinations in Brazil are Argentina (home of grandson's wife) and Rio de Janeiro. Listing to Marilu talk about their traditions and the various events makes it very intriguing and she is an avid fan of her soccer team. The four of us will probably make this trip together. I have always wanted to go to Rio after seeing the breath taking panoramic view on CSI-Miami when "H" went to Rio, it is a must see and we would love to see the rainforests.

New Mexico
Acapulco here we come! Rob has always wanted to go to New Mexico and this will be our stop. The grands have visited on several occasions and their pictures scream "I want to be there"! The calm waters, fresh seafood, nightlife and beaches are just a few of the daily attractions, you can take bus tours, boat tours or just rent a car and plot your own tour. We are truly looking forward to this trip. We haven't made it to Acapulco yet, but we did visit the beautiful cities of Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan & Puerto Vallarta. |
Dallas, TX
I am a diehard "Cowboy" fan, win or lose! My love for the Cowboys began in 1978 watching Tony Dorsett play in Superbowl XII: Dallas Cowboys beat Denver Broncos. I have been hooked every since. My all time player is "Emmit Smith" but I still love Tony. Our newest additions in the football gallery are two standing quarterbacks - one for Dallas and one for the Giants (Rob's team). Visiting Dallas where it truly started for me in football would be wonderful. Who knows, maybe a game is in my future. "Live Large, Think Big"! |
Paris
Who wouldn't want to go Paris -The Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, The Battle of Normandy, etc. etc. etc.! I could go on and on. Paris is another romantic spot with education added in. Doing things you normally don't do. Yes you can go to the opera in USA but going to The Opera Garnier is an entirely different experience with the true atmosphere of a great opera venue. There are so many museums based on the history of Paris that you would definitely need a minimum of two weeks to take it all in. |
California
Palmdale and San Francisco, California will be our west coast destination. We have a long time friend that lives and Palmdale. The amazing hills of San Francisco are breath taking. There are numerous quaint restaurants at Fisherman's Warf, Castagnola's at Jones Street and the infamous Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant and Market located at Pier 39 along with many other attractions. |
