Fourth of July in Myrtle Beach, SC what a way to spend a holiday. For us "Just Another Road Trip" from NJ to SC. We stopped in Fayetteville for an overnight visit with our grandson before continuing on our way. The Holiday Inn Express was our home for about few days and located just across the bridge from the beach area. After settling in we went exploring the area on this side of the bridge and found mostly everything was closing and everyone was heading for the beach. There use to be a huge mall directly across from the hotel but everyone had moved out except for a Western Outlet. We stopped at the little convenience store picked up a few items and headed back to the hotel..

The next day we ventured out to the beach area for some sun and fun. Found a great parking spot so walking around was great. Had lunch on the beach and walked through town looking at the various shops and their souvenirs. Found a few nice restaurants where we stopped for cocktails and samplers. After a few hours we headed back to the hotel for a fireworks display provided by the Miami Bar & Grill next door. We could even see some of the lights from the beach fireworks show as well from our balcony. Fireworks done properly light up the sky in a beautiful array of colors.

We went to Murrells Inlet the next day to visit long time friends of Rob. They had been neighbors for years before they retired and move here. It was my first time meeting them and they were a gem. We stayed for a while before heading out to look around before returning to the hotel. We had lunch at Bubba′s Fish Shack near the waterfront. They have some crazy names for restaurants: Dead Dog Saloon, Drunken Jack′s Restaurant and Creek Ratz to name a few. It is a very pretty area to retire to and be on the waterfront as well. We did a little shopping and went back to prepare to leave the next day.

Unfortunately we had to return to Murrells Inlet a little over a month later. Rob′s friend had passed away. We were so happy that he had a chance to see him while we were there the month before. There are no words to describe how one feels when they loose a very close friend. We arrived in time for wake and attended the going home celebration the next day. We had dinner out that evening and left the next day going to Greensboro to stay for a couple of days and we decided to get married two days later. Life is so short and the next second isn′t promised to anyone. Don′t put off doing something today because you never know. Enjoy your life while you can. We do.
