Nashville, TN
I am a big fan of Aaron Neville and the Neville Brothers so when I saw that he was going to be in Nashville I asked if this could be my Christmas present and I got it. Every time I go to see him from the first note a tear will fall. I have loved this guy since I was a little girl. He has such a soothing voice and I could listen to him talk for hours. We arrived in Nashville a day before the show and had the opportunity to explore the Nashville surrounding area. We stayed at the Hilton directly across from the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Our first evening we took a cab to BB King′s Club where they had live music. Took a couple of pictures, had a couple of cocktails and then decided to walk back to the hotel. It was around Christmas time and the people were so festive. There was a group of Santa′s helpers, approximately 20, coming down the street totally enjoying themselves. With a hello to every one they met. If you weren't in the Christmas spirit before you definitely got close to it seeing the people so happy with the spirit of Christmas.
The next day as we looked out the window at the Country Music Hall of Fame decided to venture over and explore. It is an great place to visit if you ever go to Nashville. They have so much history here it is amazing. It will take you back to Annie Oakley, Minne Pearl, Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams and the latest addition, Ray Charles. The Hall is built in the design of a keyboard, what an imagination. There records and displays date back as far as 1967. Have you ever seen a bar inside a museum before? If you're a little thirsty after touring the two floors, just stroll up to the bar for a soft drink, a cold beer or even your favorite libation and a snack if you like. I'm not kidding.
Inside there are showcases of various artists, poster boards of shows with tickets for $1.50, walls and walls of records. They have a white Pontiac Bonneville on display made with everything silver inside from the buttons on the dashboard, radio and door handles. Everything is related to the country that includes coins, guns, a saddle and horns all over the car. We were flabbergasted. Can you imagine driving around in this.
